The Farm Girl(s)

Hi! I’m Tess, the owner and one of the sewing hands behind Farm Girls Creative. My journey began when I started assisting my mom with her sewing business. My mom has been a craftsperson for her entire life, sewing wedding gowns, designing for home decor, and having a sewing business of her own: The Barn Closet. There was simply no better person to ask to teach me the craft. Like her, I became impassioned with all things sewing, which prompted the creation of Farm Girls Creative.

I wanted to provide new chapters to vintage and antique textiles that already had a whole story of their own. We started thrifting (a lot) and diving into well-loved fabrics that had long been forgotten, only to write them new pages for their next life. No fabric goes to waste and we try to learn the stories about where our pieces have come from. We don’t judge the frayed or the slightly faded as it most likely means that this piece of fabric was well loved and their past moments could fill a dinner table with stories.

When I am not in the sewing studio, you can find me just outside the window taking care of my small horse training farm. It’s what puts the farm in Farm Girls Creative!

We are so happy you found our small business and hope these old stories find a meaningful new chapter with you.
